Eating Bread is good for you… right? Well, sometimes. Eating whole grainbread is good for you, giving you lots of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Butwhite bread is a whole different story — it’s just plain unhealthy, among other things! If you’re going to be eating bread, keep reading! Here are 8 very good reasons to stop eating White bread, and make the switch to eating whole grain bread instead!

1. WHITE BREAD WON’T KEEP YOU FULLflat tummy tips

White bread doesn’t have the fiber or contain as many nutrients of the grain as whole-grain does, which means  you’ll be hungry again, soon. If you’re dieting, make the switch to wholesome, healthy whole-grain bread so you can stay fuller, longer and have the fiber you need.

3. IT CONTAINS LOTS OF CHEMICALS

White bread is made with heavily processed, bleached flour. Bleach, meaning the real BLEACH. Not sure if you want to put that in your body.

4. LACK OF NUTRIENTS

White bread lacks many nutrients, stripping away two of the three parts of the grain and then bleaching the flour that its made with strips most of the nutrients out of the bread, about 30 nutrients in total.

5. IT CAN CONTRIBUTE TO DEVELOPING DIABETES

Recent studies have shown that people who eat white bread (and other processed foods) rather than whole-grain bread have a higher risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Yikes!

6. IT’S NOT VEGAN-FRIENDLY

Most white bread is no vegan friendly, it contains several animal by-products, including eggs, shortening, emulsifiers, glycerides and lactase.  There are several vegetarian and vegan-friendly whole grain bread options that you can choose from.

7. IT CAN CONTRIBUTE TO TUMMY TROUBLE

Whole grain breads contain fiber which is  very valuable to your digestive health. White bread contains very little fiber. To get the same amount of fiber in your whole-grain bread sandwich, you will  have to eat 16 pieces white bread. Whew, that’s a lot of bread.

8. IT DOES NOTHING FOR YOUR HEART

Whole-grain bread can help with your heart health. White bread does not offer any heart-healthy benefits. Israeli cardiologists have found that white bread and other products with high content of carbohydrates are harmful not only to the figure, but for the heart. They lead to distention of the arteries due to shoulder high glycemic index, and elasticity of arteries, which is an important indicator of healthy heart. According to scientists, the sharp expansion of the walls of arteries INVOLVE negative consequences of various diseases.

There are many good reasons to stop eating white bread and switch to whole grain bread, so if you haven’t already, consider switching
