There is not one food item that can remove tummy fat, but eating the right foods will help with the bulge and combined with exercise you will have a flat tummy in no time. These foods are great as a snack, then grabbing a unhealthy snack.

Take it easy with the salt and avoid excessive amounts of carbonated beverages and sugar alcohols especially when you are dieting. They can cause water retention, bloating and gas in sensitive people. Most importantly, make sure you’re eating a well-balanced diet with an appropriate amount of calories (too many calories will lead to fat accumulation everywhere — including your belly). The following foods can help maintain a flatter tummy:

Tip: If you chop everything up, sprinkle with olive oil and season, you can refrigerate the veggies and grill them as you want them. Very easy and only minutes to cook.

Frozen red/purple grapes - At only 80 calories per cup, they are loaded with anti-oxidants and make a great snack.

Watermelon - Loaded with water, which help fills you up and flushes out extra water and salt. It is high in Vitamin C and is only 80 calories a cup.

Banana – Bananas provide a good amount of potassium, which helps rid your body of extra sodium and is about 105 calories.

Nude’ air-popped popcorn  - No salt! But it still makes a low calorie good snack.

Nonfat, flavored yogurt - Gas is a common cause of a bloated belly, but when adding one cup of yogurt a day to your diet, it can help keep your digestive system working efficiently. Yogurt contains beneficial bacteria called probiotics that may help reduce stomach bloating and gas, plus its a super food. Mix with blueberries and your set.

Egg whites – Studies show that people who eat a protein-rich breakfast every day are better able to maintain a healthy weight, and healthy weight can mean a flatter stomach.

Unsweetened iced tea and coffee - Calorie free and full of antioxidants, these refreshing, cool beverages fill you up and help flush out extra sodium. Use skim, one percent reduced-fat or soy milk for the coffee.

BULGUR- Bulgur is a grain, Half a cup of cooked bulgur has more fiber and fewer calories than other grains. Fiber aids in keeping your body’s insulin levels low, which researchers speculate may shrink fat cells.

CHOCOLATE MILK- Yes, chocolate milk! Athletes who drank chocolate milk had lower levels of muscle damage after four days of intense exercising than those who guzzled a sports drink, these findings were presented at the American College of Sports Medicine. Stir in 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder or syrup that has less than 20 g sugar
